ISOM Report July 2020

Praise the Lord I trust everyone is doing well even in these strange circumstances.

The world continues to struggle the Covit pandemic but I hope, by now, we have adapted and looked to see how the Lord would have us to minister into this new environment.

I am convinced this is our time to shine. We carry the only hope for the world and while we are not absolutely sure what stage the “End Times” is at, I am sure these are the beginning of birth pangs.
This time did not take the Lord by surprise, even if it did us, so He knows exactly what He has in mind for His church.

Several things I want to encourage you all at this time.

  1. God is with His people Is 43: 1-2 “Fear not…I am with you ……….. “ It is critical that we know where our hope and help is from, and to keep close to the Lord every moment of every day. He is our “Wisdom and Righteousness and Sanctification and Redemption.” We are safe with Him and He is coming back for us.
  2. Our testimony is the “Light of the World.” Math 6:14-16 “ you are the light of the world…….Let your light so shine before men that they will see your good works and glorify the Father which is in heaven”. Our confession and actions will declare our Faith to the world. I believe we should be the best citizens in the Nations and work to support the Government in their attempt to keep the peo-ple safe from the pandemic even if it is inconvenient for us.
  3. Pray, pray, pray. This is our greatest contribution. Intercession for our Nations and communities. 1 Tim 2:1-5 “ I exhort first of all, all supplications, prayers, intercession and giving of thanks be made for all men……for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God who would have all men to be saved……”
  4. Good Works and Evangelism. Rom 10: 14 “…….and how will they believe on someone they have not heard and how will they hear without a preacher?” This is a time people are asking questions, people are afraid and uncertain, people are seeking answers. As much as possible we must be reaching out to our neighbours and communities, to bring them support and the message of the gospel.

The bible teaches us that “we must work while it is day , the night comes when no-one can work.” While I do not believe this is that time, it certainly is an opportunity to recognise how quickly everything can change and we need to awaken to our primary purpose as “Ambassadors of Christ“ While there may be short seasons of respite in the world’s troubles, I am convinced trouble will increase in the days ahead and our day of silence will come. THIS IS OUR TIME. WE MUST WORK NOW.

During this time we are doing all we can to stay connected and to encourage one another.

I am conducting ZOOM meetings and training with as many regions as possible and we are conducting ISOM and Faith International schools in three regions. The pastors in Vietnam, India and Pakistan are continuing training in our absence and I am spending zoom-time with the church in North Macedonia and Albania. This is wonderful. Pastors in Africa also continue to conduct training in their regions.

Of course I look forward to being with the Nations again as soon as possible, but I am thrilled to see the training continuing in our absence. This is perfect, Hallelujah.
